and why telling people that them shipping gay kids together is sexual or wrong is extremely harmful.

Recently I've seen a extremely large spike in modernised homophobia towards gay kids in the community, shipping other gay kids together. most of their arguments are something like "we are sexualising the children" or "shipping kids is weird because they're to young to be gay"--

and i'd like to raise the questions, if someone is to young to be gay, why aren't they to young to be straight? why does understanding your sexuality have to have an age, and why is it that i cannot fight for representation without being accused of sexualizing kids? --

The idea that being gay is inherently sexual is homophobic and harmful to gay kids, i mainly see this argument with mlm ships like killugon, gay men have had such a hard time in the anime community with being sexualized and fetishised to the point that we can no longer ship-

gay CHILDREN together. just because there a few horrible people in the community WHO DO sexualize gay kids that dosent mean everyone is horrible. We really need to stop demonising gay kids as it is harmful to mlm teens especially, who are coming to terms with their sexuality-

it makes them feel as if they cannot experience platonic and romantic feelings for each-other and that everything HAS to be sexual, why isnt this the same for straight ships. kids can be straight but not be in a sexual relationship and we need to adopt that same thought-

process for gay kids quickly, as gay kids experience the same things that straight people do in a relationship, in fact being gay can be even SCARIER when moving through the steps of a relationship, you dont just go straight to sex do you? people wait YEARS for stuff like that-

in some cases, and it's the same for gay people. straight ships with children are not seen as sexual automatically and we should stop viewing gay kids and gay ships like theyre sexual because gay people can also experience innocent platonic childhood crushes. -

it's homophobic to treat gay kids this way and i really hope we as a community stop acting like ships like Bakudeku and Killugon are sexual because they're CHILDREN. if you find a problem with ships like this because you think they're sexual you have internalised homophobia!! -
