Fight the urge to philosophise or intellectualise everything like you fight a devil. Fight the urge to add a storyline to every experience. It will steal away everything from you - the ability to enjoy people, life. You will always be more engaged with your head than life itself.

No system will hand you a shortcut in understanding the world. All the piles of things written & thought & we cannot understand it any better, if not, we are more confused. Escapism can be anything, including running away in the comfort of your thoughts.

There is something sacred in just drinking coffee without making some “dull middle class philosophy out of it” as Kerouac said. Life is often cruel, to know sweetness, one must know bitterness too, the idea of life is nicer than the reality of it, but love it regardless.
