A popular brewery job website reached out and asked to use photos of me to diversify their home page. When I requested that I/photographer be compensated, I received a snarky response stating they didn’t realize this was a “revenue model” for me and that they had plenty of other

people to choose from.

I was ignored after replying that if they actually wanted to support diversity/inclusion/equity in beer they would compensate those they are using photos of instead of asking for free things from those people (that ultimately benefits *their* business).

I also told them I hoped they were doing much more to support underrepresented people in beer than solely a performative action like using images to “appear” more diverse + inclusive.
