I also want to thank some of the librarian-scholars whose work we cite, who have done so much to unveil the really insidious ways our profession suppresses free expression, particularly for BIPOC librarians: @Kaetrena, @Fobettarh, @AmeliaNGibson, @yasmeen_azadi, Nicole Cooke+
Renate Chancellor, @readingspark, Shari Lee.+
I was incredibly inspired by the @UCLibrarians who fought for academic freedom to be included in their union contract. I followed the fight eagerly here and elsewhere. Many of @snowdenbecker's post from that time informed my thinking about #LibrarianAF.
I almost forgot to thank Aaron Albertson (whose twitter handle I can't seem to conjure here) for being our survey test subject way way back when.+
And finally, thanks to all the librarians who shared their experiences with academic freedom in our survey and in other places. I hope you see yourself in this piece.
I totally broke this thread and didn't number anything! C'est la pandemie!
