Yet to meet one southerner that feels any sort of superiority towards Irish people in the North - If anything, I’ve been surrounded by people who envy the sense of Irishness they exude. Also, you don’t have to speak Irish to be Irish x https://twitter.com/jo_leeeee/status/1306271957067927561
Being from North Dublin, Irish republicanism is everywhere - I learned Irish from a young age, spoke it at home, took part in Irish culture, instruments and like many of my pals - looked up to those up north that had to fight for their right to be Irish. Superiority? Nah
Blame the system and partition - not southerners. We were born into a place that had an education system designed at making us resent the language rather than embrace it (not me but a lot of people) and yous were born into a place where yous have to protest to speak it.
Irish unity has never been closer - stop creating divisions between Irishness, we are all fucking gorgeous and it’s the unionist politicians and the tories that we need to be starting on, not eachother:))
