I certainly agree that people need to know more about the Holocaust.
But I can't find the survey data or questions anywhere. 200 random people, 18-39, from each U.S. state.
But, what were the questions? Where is the data? I'd love to know more. https://twitter.com/guardian/status/1306091539530223621

So this is getting more attention, so let me add some more context.
And also say that I am not trying to drag anyone. But I think if we are concerned about Holocaust awareness, it's important to be nuanced and not get in a "boy who cried wolf" situation.

I mean...these are pretty positive results, actually.
90% of respondents believe the Holocaust happened. 3% don't.
90% of respondents believe the Holocaust happened. 3% don't.
35% of Americans are familiar with Oskar Schindler? That's pretty awesome in this scholar's opinion.
I am actually more concerned about the 12% who thought it was exaggerated than the 3% who think it's a myth.
This is great. 80% of respondents think it's important to teach about the Holocaust so it doesn't happen again.
Almost 60% of people believe it's possible that something like the Holocaust could happen today.
As a genocide studies scholar, I think that's a pretty great finding as well.
As a genocide studies scholar, I think that's a pretty great finding as well.
In closing, I think there are some great and some disturbing findings here. But I also think the media portrayal of this is not helpful when we look at those results.
It's vital that we continue to teach about the Holocaust.
It's vital that we continue to teach about the Holocaust.
I think it's VITAL that we do surveys to ensure that we are doing our job in teaching about the Holocaust and genocide.
I'm just concerned that a constant barrage of doom and gloom reporting is having the opposite effect of numbing people to these important tasks.

P.S.- If you are some right-wing troll or Holocaust denier who is going to @ me with some antisemitic crap about a "Holocaust conspiracy," don't.
