this is... not how sound or color work. pretending that this kind of restoration is not a subjective colorization is just disingenuous. it may be less subjective than colorization of a b&w source, but it's still subjective and subject to creative intent

i think this account produces some beautiful images! but it perpetuates mistaken notions about the nuances and complexity of color (let alone film color or digital color) to imply that there is something "true" or "original" about the results
