My elders and ancestors didn’t die for my right to vote. They were murdered because they wanted to be seen and acknowledged as a whole person with the ability to have a say in the country that occupied and oppressed them. They were MURDERED.

I promise you they weren’t saying “I want to die and be a martyr, so future generations of Black people can vote”. I can guarantee you they wanted to go home to their families and dreamed of fulfilling lives. Even when they suspected they’d die, they wanted to live.

My ancestors didn’t go through all that for me to vote for Joe Biden. Stop the damn lies.
