On August 11, 2019, myself and other survivors of sexual abuse and manipulation by Diego Orbegoso approached ICE Out of RVA 1/6
where he was in the leadership team at, and told them our stories and asked for support.
We were met by certain members with gaslighting, silencing, and emotional abuse. 7 mnths later our statements were finally published thanks to a separate team who took it upon themselves 2/6

Once it was published (on ICE Out Of RVAs social media) we were all completely cut off from them. Since then, even while ACROSS THE COUNTRY, I have been told about the terrible things they have said to other community members about myself 3/6
other survivors, and previous members of their organization.
They said that we are not victims of sexual assault, they have made themselves feel as though they are the victims in the situation and refuse to take accountability for their detrimental harm. 4/6

This specially hurts as an undocumented person that has CONSTANTLY advocated for them, thinking that they would advocate for us the same way.
Everyday we are building a new world and there is absolutely no room for this sort of behavior in it. 5/6
