Since my follower count has just increased by 50% (thanks, viral Venus thread) I think this is a good opportunity to properly introduce myself to everyone! Hi, I'm Lisa from Germany and I tweet mostly about computational chemistry, scientific publishing, and equity in science 1/7
I work full-time as an editor at the chemistry journal @angew_chem where I'm responsible for physical, computational, and analytical chemistry. I take care of the peer review of new submissions from these fields, copyedit manuscripts, and stay in touch with the communities 2/7
I also put a lot of effort into making scientific publishing more fair and inclusive for researchers from under-represented groups and work on this together with other editors from @Wiley_Chemistry and @ChemEurope journals 3/7
I've done research on atmospheric chemistry using spectroscopy as well as on biochemistry and surface/materials chemistry using computational methods. Follow my former supervisors @notherChemist and @RalfTonner if you'd like to learn more about this research 4/7
If you enjoy astronomy and astrophysics: great, so do I! But I don't tweet about it a lot. Here are some cool people from that field you should check out and follow: @emilydoesastro @toomanyspectra @That_Astro_Chic @Sydonahi @astro_jje @AstroKirsten 5/7
I am also a queer trans woman and always love to meet other queer scientists! In 2018 and 2019, I took care of two queer youth groups and counseled those young people. That work was super fulfilling, but I don't have the time and energy for that at the moment 6/7
On a final note: I enjoy music, play several instruments, love to do sound engineering and music production, enjoy scifi books/movies/shows, and frequently play board games. That's all, folks! 7/7
