Hi. I'm glad football is returning, just like the rest of y'all. I have my problems with it, but that's not the point.

Let's talk about how in the midst of this, athlete activism hasn't only been pushed to the side in media coverage, but almost completely ignored. (THREAD)
The problem here is, past the DN and one other TV station (by my count, sorry if I’m leaving anyone out), there’s been nothing at all from Nebraska media.

Check the pages of OWH, LJS, etc.. Nothing.
I understand football returning is a huge story too. But media outlets across the state haven’t even treated this like a side story, but not a story at all.
I hope media members are asking themselves where their priorities lie. I saw a whole lot of commitments to covering the stories of Black communities. Do y’all care when it’s not men’s basketball or football players? Do you care only when you can’t avoid it?
Hire more Black journalists, please.
