In anticipation of this @futureconsf panel, I thought I would put together a thread highlighting some Greek SFF. I'm sure the thread will be incomplete, so feel free to add more people (or introduce yourselves!). https://twitter.com/futureconsf/status/1305884076222496769
I'm not an expert in the history of Science Fiction in Greece, so I'll defer to some excellent write-ups by people who know better.
This article by @D_Nikolaidou about Speculative Fiction in Greece is a great place to start: http://press.futurefire.net/2018/02/speculative-fiction-in-greece.html?m=1
But I'd also like to highlight some individual Greek-speaking writers, many of whom write and publish primarily in English. Any mistakes, please correct me--and, again, feel free to point me to others or introduce yourselves. Here we go, in no particular order:
Eugenia Triantafyllou ( @FoxesandRoses) has had stories in Uncanny, Apex, Interzone, and many other venues. Also a fellow @ClarionWest graduate!
Recommended starting point, this story in @strangehorizons: http://strangehorizons.com/fiction/we-are-here-to-be-held/
Full list here: https://eugeniatriantafyllou.com/
Dimitra Nikolaidou ( @D_Nikolaidou) has had stories published in Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Metaphorosis, See the Elephant, and elsewhere. Also a translator and scholar! Start with "The Heart of Vesta" on @StarShipSofa: http://www.starshipsofa.com/blog/2019/03/27/starshipsofa-no-581-dimitra-nikolaidou/
Kat Kourbeti ( @darthjuno) is a Greek SF/F writer and critic who also hosts the Spectrum London Writers' Group ( @SpectrumSFF). Follow her!
George Cotronis ( @ravenkult) is the editor of @KrakenPress and an amazing artist in addition to an excellent writer. Full list of publications: https://www.cotronis.com/about2
Start with "Blackbird Lullaby" in Thirteen: Stories of Transformation.
Atalanti Evreipidou's stories have appeared in various Greek anthologies, but you can also listen to her story "Crystal Ash" @StarShipSofa: http://www.starshipsofa.com/blog/2020/05/20/starshipsofa-no-634-atalanti-evripidou/
You can follow @natalia_theodor.
