Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Have you ever got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom? There’s no light anywhere but you’re still trying to make your way to your destination. You bump into all sorts of things, have little idea of exactly

where you’re going, you may even occasionally fall or hurt yourself. Jesus tells us that if we follow him, our journey through life with him won’t have to be like that. We won’t have to aimlessly walk in the darkness with little idea of where we are or where we’re

going. Does this mean we won’t encounter problems? Not at all, for even in the daylight we face adversity, but following Jesus, and walking in his light assures us that we will always have direction, we will always have a faithful shepherd leading us through whatever

we may face, we will walk after a faithful Lord who sees what we don’t and will keep us from falling. Jesus tells us that he will lead us, the choice is ours to follow.
