something very interesting i've just seen - j.r.r. tolkien wasn't a nice human, but we still enjoy his works. we've separated the art from him in this case. if you are comfortable enough to do so, then feel free to separate harry potter from jkr. everyone is different.
we shouldn't be judging people on what they want to consume, as long as we are aware of where our money goes at the end of the day. plus, she's already a billionaire.
hp has really comforted me during the pandemic. it has comforted me throughout my entire life. i bought the books and films a long time ago, and i can still love them and support the trans community at the same time.
which brings me to the point: trans lives matter. trans people deserve to live as who they truly are. i love my trans and non binary friends so much. i love and support the trans community. that exists along with my love for a series i have adored since i was little. end of.
additional point: hp lovecraft. big racist. yet we still consume, enjoy, and adapt his work because we have separated it from him.

we can recognise horrific faults in creators and still enjoy their work separately. of course, it's okay if you don't. it's not one shoe fits all.
