Incoming: I won’t post that expose on McGrath. I don’t need to - it is all the stuff we already know. All failed tactics that have been tried over and over without success. When you at war with your own “party” because of their absolute refusal to grow, to change, to evolve - 1/
to listen to people on the ground. To listen to grassroots that have the trust of everyday people ... to only strategize around how much money you will have in your own bank account (because that’s what drives big dollar campaigns like this - personal wealth & “power”). It is
hard to realize and accept that McGrath is just a platform for fundraising both for the national & state establishment, for consulting vultures to make their money & add it to their resume so they can milk other campaigns (ask Beshear’s campaign manager - since he now has his
own McGrath super pac raking in all that money). I cannot emphasize this enough - we are the movement. We are the change that happens outside of the parties. Local and state is where we make our moves - where we make the most and effective changes. And for those that will
continue to vilify those of us that call it out - I’m not here to impart on you behind the scenes experiences that many of us have had - that many of us have seen first hand. Hold on to that idea that this race is about defeating McConnell. It’s not. It’s about making money.
Don’t @ me with the “but McConnell is the devil” - I’m real clear on that. But this bullshit is as bad - because we don’t have the time to waste playing these same old games. It’s gross. It’s in bad faith and shameful given how bad McConnell is and will continue to be until
he hands it over to Cameron. The establishment (both parties mind you - and those that blindly follow) and really looking at you neolibs and sell outs - will not and have no desire to have deep meaningful shifts. It is up to us. People coming together.
And last thought - there are good people trying to get good work done. But there are also old timers (that have brought along new naive blood) that refuse to a: give up relationships with corrupt consultants b: refuse to be transparent c: are why we are in this mess d: retire
We cannot throw stones when we have a dumpster fire to contend with ourselves. Hard reflection needs meaningful discussions that lead to actual change. Good people are being held back because establishment dated ((and corrupt)) behavior continues to rule. I had to let go of
several relationships that I had one time valued because of these very things. Establishment politicians that I thought were in it for the right reasons. And maybe at one time they were - but now? Troll bills and continued relationships with corrupt and misogynistic consultants.
I just can’t. So. We work in our own way on our own terms.
And leave Abby’s name out of your mouth. As someone just pointed out - we wonder why young folks don’t get involved.
