Spoiled. Entitled. Naive. Selfish. Mis/disinformed. Cosplay socialists. White supremacist. These are all terms I've heard used to describe the "progressives" who are insisting that Biden "earn their vote" this November...

All of these criticisms are true. But I have come to believe that their talk of a "revolution" stems from a deep-seated desire to go down in the history books as ACTUAL revolutionaries...

They want to be the guys who forced King John to sign the Magna Carta. They want to be Martin Luther nailing the 95 theses to the church door. They want to be Maximillien Robespierre and all those angry peasants who stormed the Bastille...

They wish they were Toussaint L'Ouverture, The Black Panthers, Malcolm X, the MauMaus, Gamal Abdel Nasser, Tacky, Nat Turner, John Brown, Cinque, Harriet Tubman, and Crispus Attucks all rolled up into one...

They wish they were there to dump all that tea in Boston Harbor. They want to be Nathan Hale and Patrick Henry and Paul Revere...

They want to be Giuseppe Garibaldi or Gavrilo Princip. They get all tingly inside when they read about the Bolsheviks who toppled a 300 year old dynasty and abolished the Russian monarchy forever...

They wish they were Che or Fidel or Emiliano Zapata or Mandela or The Indians of All Tribes or the SDS or The Chicago 7 or The Weather Underground or Marek Edelman or the Polish Resistance or Miep Gies or the Maccabees or the Spanish Republicans or Lech Waleşa or Tank Man...

Those guys--after dying in a blaze of revolutionary glory--got the Hollywood treatment. You can watch feature films/documentaries about them every day for YEARS and never run out of material. And that's if you don't want to read the thousands of books that mythologize them...

Thing is, you don't get that kind of treatment if you are just one of the nameless faceless people who show up at a polling place, anonymously marking a piece of paper, and using a democratic process (voting) to rid yourself of a dictator. That's why they won't temporarily...

Align themselves with someone who can simply get more votes than a verified fascist. Where's the danger and excitement in that?

And they refuse to believe that the aforementioned revolutionaries would have rid themselves of their oppressors through the ballot box if the option had been available to them. Like all chaos agents, they are genuinely shocked by the fact that most people--even revolutionaries

Would choose to do the right thing in the easiest way possible. These progressives foolishly confuse these revolutionaries' willingness to risk/lose their lives for their cause with a literal DESIRE to lose their lives....

For that reason, "progressives" will NEVER show up on Nov 3. They are straining against the comfort of their privileged 1st world existences and, no, they DGAF that others don't share that cosseted existence & are at risk of losing what little they have. They want the book deals

And the biopics and you don't get that by voting in a country which still allows voting.
