i still cant believe l’ouis wrote home and some of yall still have the audacity to call us delulu the song literally says “so many nights i thought it over told myself i kinda liked her” it’s literally one of the loudest songs but yall still refuse to listen.
it’s a song that literally talks about coming out and accepting yourself with the help of someone, or with someone that’s going through the same thing.
——————————————————
the song start by saying how they’re trying to let go of this facade this mask this person has put up (to the point they feel d word) for so long and just be themselve and feel alive again. they want to let it go and just be their true self
then this person continues to talk about how the person they are with right now, they have thought they liked “her” but it was simply not there. they’ve tried countless of times to convince themselve that it was there, that they loved “her” but it just simply isn’t there.
~Make a little conversation, so long I& #39;ve been waiting
To let go of myself and feel alive
So many nights I thought it over, told myself I kind of liked her
But there was something missing in her eyes~
——————————————————
then the song continues and changes completely because they meet this new person. upon meeting this new person they realize that they’re not the only one having these problems/thoughts. they’re not the only one feeling empty and alone.
after meeting this new person they start to realize they have feelings for the new person, because after spending so much time in the dark they’ve finally found someone that understands them. someone who feels the same way they’re feeling.
at first upon meeting, the both of them might’ve been scared because they have finally met someone that understands them, but eventually they understand that they’re not going through it alone, and that at the end they’re both enough for each other.
~I was stumbling
Looking in the dark with an empty heart
But you say you feel the same
Could we ever be enough?
Baby, we could be enough~
——————————————————
then everything changes because they finally allowed themselve to love this person they denied themselve they couldn’t love for so long. this new person (or both of them) tells them that if they ever feel like they did so long ago that they shouldn’t because they’re “home”
they’re both home because they finally found someone like them. so they tell each other (or one of them tells the other) that if they ever feel lost and alone like they once did before meeting each other they shouldn’t because they finally have a “home” or a safe space to be in.
~And it& #39;s alright
Calling out for somebody to hold tonight
When you& #39;re lost, I& #39;ll find a way, I& #39;ll be your light
You& #39;ll never feel like you& #39;re alone
I& #39;ll make this feel like home~
——————————————————
then they want to make it official with this new person they met. they want to wake up everyday and see the new persons face and feel the same way they did before going to sleep. they don’t want it to be just one night, they want it to be like that everyday.
they feel “high” of love because of this new person. they are the happiest they ever been and they can notice that(happiness)in this new persons eye too. the light they were once missing with“her”they’re now feeling it with this new person. they can see it in the new persons eye.
~So hot that I couldn& #39;t take it, wanna wake up and see your face
And remember how good it was being here last night
Still high with a little feeling, I see the smile as it starts to creep in
It was there, I saw it in your eyes~
——————————————————
then the pre-chorus and the chorus are the same as before and i already explained them :)

i want to clarify that im in no way claiming this song is about L&H or even just l’ouis because i dont know. its also the reason i used they pronouns because i didnt want to make it about him or larry since a lot of people from the lgtbq+ community feel identified with the song.
just remember that writing like this, a writing that is so raw comes from experience. its not easy to write a song like this, a song that makes other people feel identified with unless you have been through it, unless you’ve felt that and can be able to put it into words.
~for example a breakup song. the reason you feel identified with it it’s because the artist has been through the heartbreak and was able to put into words what they felt while going through it~
this is the type of writing that it’s so honest other people can identify with it. and it’s honestly one of the most beautiful things ever because you feel like you’re not alone, because you know someone out there feels the same way you did/do.
and this is honestly one of the reasons i love l’ouis’ songwriting because when he writes, i feel like he writes truthfully and in a way makes you feel heard/seen because he writes without walls(ha ha see what i did therehttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😏" title="Grinsendes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Grinsendes Gesicht">) he writes without boundaries.
he could’ve also wrote this for his lgtbq+ fans, but then again it’s hard to write about this topic without feeling or experiencing that. and it’s hard to write a song that people can identify with if you haven’t been through those struggles yourself.
~another example: if an artist wrote about a struggles in their personal life only people that have gone through the same thing can understand what theyre singing about because they know how it feels like to have that struggle, and in a way they can identify with the song.~
anywaaaysss this is my interpretation of the song, this is how i see and identify with the song you can completely disagree with it and that’s fine i respect that, but don’t be mean about it because there’s no need to be.
and if i ofended you in some way i truly deeply apologize i promise it wasn’t my intention i just wrote how i was feeling and my own thoughts about the song. and again you can completely disagree with it and i understand that but there’s no need to be mean about it https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="💗" title="Wachsendes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Wachsendes Herz">
