1. Inspired by reading @KitGonzo's review of KILL WHITEY and a conversation I was having here with @CVHunt and others, here's a quick thread on *my politics* for those who are curious (w/ the caveat that I rarely discuss politics so I hope you'll allow me this brief digression).

2. I'm 52. I've been voting since I was 18. In that time, I've voted for candidates from the Republican, Democrat, Libertarian and Green parties. I consider myself an Independent but I'm registered as a Democrat because they most closely align with my values.

3. (Also, in Pennsylvania, if you register as an Independent and there are no Independents on the ballot then you can’t vote in the primary...and fuck that noise. I served my country. I want to vote.)

4. I’m not voting for Trump because he’s a con artist and criminal — plain and simple. He’s worse than the corrupt Nixon. He’s worse than the rotten Cheney/Rumsfeld gang. His number one goal isn’t the Constitution or our Republic. It’s expanding his criminal empire and fortune.

5. I’m not voting for Trump because of the prevalent dog whistles to the worst of our society — the white supremicists, the fringe conspiracy theorists who actually buy in to Alex Jones and David Icke’s bullshit, the disenfranchised who want an excuse to resort to violence.

6. I’m not voting for Trump because of his disrespect to me, my father (Vietnam), my grandfather (WW2), my uncle (D-Day) and my great-grandfather (WW1). If he was some guy in a bar spouting that shit, I’d make him swallow his teeth. I can do the same at the ballot box.

7. I’m not voting for Trump because he’s incompetent, a liar, a thug, and a bully. And I fucking loathe bullies.

8. I’ll always respect my audience in regard to politics. But respect is a two-way street. Come at me with “you’re an asshole for not voting Trump” and I’ll assume you don’t respect me.

I won’t tell you how to vote, but I will tell you *to* vote. Please don’t sit this one out.
