1. What a fine summation of the situation! And Wylfa is a microcosm that represents the situation for Wales as a whole. We know that Wales' budget is set via Barnett according to Westminster spending decisions. But there's more ... https://twitter.com/gareth_m_h/status/1306167794644529158
2. Large infrastructure capital expenditure is reserved to Westminster. In all WM is responsible for about 45% of govt expenditure in Wales. Looking at GERW, capital expenditure is significantly less in Wales than the UK average per person.

3. How many projects have we missed out on? Tidal power, rail electrification/north-south link, power generation now. How many do we contribute to? "UK" projects such as Trident, HS2 & Crossrail. Some of these actually incur a cost to the Welsh economy and we are paying for it.
4. Now we all know about the so called deficit. As fine a piece of academic research GERW is, it is a piece of internal accounting for UK government spending in Wales. Yes, the Welsh Gov is the devolved arm og UK govt.

This isnt Wales' deficit. It's the UK Govt's deficit.
5. Yet, Wales has a GDP per head higher that Portugal or Spain, raises more tax revenue per person than New Zealand and has 10x the population of Iceland. Nobody doubts their capacity for Statehood.

So what is going on?
6. Wales is locked into political/economic model that concentrates wealth and power in the hands of the UK establishment, centred around London. This benefits the vested interests within the UK establishment to the detriment of the rest of the UK.
7. Conservatives wear this model as a badge of honour! Labour also adheres to this model, excusing it as "solidarity" and "redistributionism." Now "subsidiarity" is being invoked in favour of devolution or federalism. This doesn't spare blushes from their support for the model.
8. I for one am sick and tired of the excuses, obfuscation and misrepresentation from unionist parties opposed to #indyWales. #Annibyniaeth is the full set of tools we require to rebuild our country.
9. Independence is the mindset we need to fix our problems without dependency on a failed state model wrt Wales. Frankly the Johnson Govt is bringing the general failure of WM govt into sharp relief.

It's time for change. It's time for #indyWales #Annibyniaeth.

End.
