1/2. As a Jew I'm disappointed but not surprised. As an American, I'm more concerned with the ignorance among ppl of all ages of our own nation's barbaric history. 2/2 Why would we expect young American adults to know about the Nazi Holocaust when they weren't taught the harder truths of American history? Teach our kids about slavery and Jim Crow and the Native American genocide first. Then teach about the Nazis.
When people say, "It can't happen here," I used to think, "Of course it can." Now I know the more important response, "It already did happen here."
