Part of what keeps the Nazi fringe somewhat in check is the constant spectre of antifascist action. Antifa behavior today is tame compared to the past. It’s a shame TERFs don’t have that experiential history.
When Nazis complain that antifa is militant, the correct answer from antifa is, “yes, we are.”
When TERFs complain that trans women are militant, the correct answer again is, “yes, we are.”
When TERFs complain that trans women are militant, the correct answer again is, “yes, we are.”
Bigotry of this form have *never in history* been defeated only through polite means.
TERFs have gone around for years calling trans people “trans radical activists” and whatnot. And that puts trans people on the defensive immediately, trying to justify how they’re not radical, not activists.
Discharge yourself of your disdain for radicalism. When bigotry is the status quo, equality is a radical idea.
TERFs are not equipped for what to do when stop saying “no we’re not!” and start saying “yes we are, now what are you gonna do about it.”
