“You are my heroes”

That was Aunty Irunna’s response to the first presentation that the PEA Foundation team made to her some 4 years ago."

Thread
“I and my family are a testimony of the importance of education and how it can change the trajectory and story of your generation”
She went further to share how her father was punished by being sent to school in a boarding house by his step mother in order to ensure that her children had sole access to her husband’s wealth.
While her father was busy studying in school, his step brothers and sisters were ‘lounging’ at the expense of their father and didn’t bother to get a proper education.
According to her, this made all the difference in her father’s life and consequently her own life.
Therefore, she believes that PEA Foundation’s interventions of libraries, mentoring and scholarship will make all the difference in the lives of many indigents in society hence her commitment to the vision, mission, goals and ideals of PEA Foundation.
At that historic meeting, she also mentioned that she had registered an NGO – which does the same things as us; and since we are doing it better, she will channel her resources and energies into PEA Foundation, instead
Calling @peafoundationng team her heroes meant a lot to us then as she was the head of learning & development for Fidelity Bank & her commendation greatly encouraged our team & further reinforced our commitment to the unusual path that we had decided to tread
Since our August meeting, Aunty Irunna has always been there for the team, supporting us with personal resources and connecting us with many opportunities and people within her network.
She even ensures that the PEA Foundation team ‘unwinds’ during the Christmas season by inviting us to Christmas carol soiree organized by she and her friends.
The venue is always different with plenty of food, fun and many many ‘BANGER’ wars. For many of us, it is like reliving childhood again during Christmas.
She participates in all our programs from the book clubs, to the career & life skills mentoring program and currently serves on PEA Foundation’s advisory board.
We have observed her commitment to PEA Foundation over the years and we can truly say that aunty IRUNNA is the TRUE HERO.
