gentle reminder to folks

there's many more transfolk than just transgirls like me, and ALL of them deserve equal respect, validation and attention

don't neglect trans men, NB trans folks, or any portion of us all
we're all trying to do the same thing - be who we are

for those not in the know, i tend to see a lot of transmasc pain on my TL here quite often, and in other spaces i've seen trans men often feel neglected or sidelined compared to trans women

none of us should be the "focus"! no one of us is "better" or more important

it's true that as trans folks we all face broad discrimination and hatred, often from outside sources - bigots, fash, you know the type

but there's internal discrimination going on that you may not have seen; transmen being mistreated by other trans folks, which isn't acceptable

trans men are often treated in really awful ways by other trans folks - still being hit with misogyny despite being men and rightfully asking to be treated as such, their motives for transitioning questioned, and their whole being judged harshly for transitioning as they do

if you see this going on, call it out
and if they don't want to rein it in, call the community out, make sure folks know it isn't safe or good

trans men would stand up for us, it's only right we stand up for them in turn
they should get the same benefit from our spaces as we do

i know the focus here is on trans men, but this goes for any kind of inter-trans fighting!

trans poc, disabled trans folks, stand with them too! make sure they enjoy the same safety/community that trans women do

if we leave them behind, are we any better than those who hate us?
