Today is #InternationalIdentityDay, the most sacred day for the followers of the identity faith.

But what do we really know about the theology of this group? Let me share with you what I've learnt over years of studying them! 1.
The creed followed by most followers is known as "16.9". As with many ancient texts, it's meaning is far from clear, interpretations vary. It remains a mystery how it got from the original to an interpretation that it is calling for a giant biometric database. 2.
Followers are strong believers in miracles, with a belief that a piece of laminated plastic,or a number, can achieve miraculous results.
As a result, they are strong believers in faith-healing, and how these relics can solve maternal health, vaccinations - and even Coronavirus! 3.
Do they believe in a heaven? You bet! Their name for heaven is "Estonia". 4.
Constant evangelism is a key tenet of the faith. As a result, we've seen many missionaries travelling the world. As with many missionaries, the spreading of their faith is often the main aim of their activities working on issues like vaccination. 5.
Unfortunately, the consequence of this is the emergence of theocracies. In many of these states, non-believers are denied even the most basic of government services. Apostasy is impossible. 6.
I hope this thread has given you some insight into this faith group on #InternationalIdentityDay! While we do have to respect their rights to follow their esoteric beliefs, please also remember that you don't have to follow them. A "no thanks" is often the best way. end.
