There will be tens of thousands of football fans in Macclesfield (just like Wigan) who spend millions on Sky TV and replica kits whilst looking down their nose at their local club. "Yeah, but Macc are shit" That may be true but they don't deserve to die.

What a shame those millions can't be diverted into ensuring that 11 men can continue to earn a few hundred quid a week kicking a ball about in the name of Macclesfield Town, rather than paying another few hundred quid a week to a footballer who barely needs it.

The game needs rebalancing, we are all complicit in it, and we have been from the second we were coaxed into becoming consumers rather than spectators. Sadly those at the top are too busy feathering their own nests to care for those at the bottom.
