The Florida deadline for voter registration is October 5. Newly re-enfranchised ex-felons have multiple options for registering to vote.
- If you don& #39;t owe any fees, fines, or restitution, then you can do it online: https://registertovoteflorida.gov/eligibilityreactive">https://registertovoteflorida.gov/eligibili...

If you *do* owe, then you still have options.
- In Miami-Dade County, there& #39;s a "rocket docket" to clear those, and let 150,000 people in your situation register. And your vote is powerful - there are key legislative races in Miami-Dade! https://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/state-politics/naked-politics/article233254066.html">https://www.miamiherald.com/news/poli...

- In Palm Beach and Tampa counties (other places where there are key races), contact the public defender& #39;s office.
- A similar procedure is available in Hillsborough County. https://www.palmbeachpost.com/opinion/20190811/editorial-aronberg-taking-tough-but-right-path-with-felon-voting-rights">https://www.palmbeachpost.com/opinion/2...

Finally, if you are having trouble getting a local authority to say you are free and clear (a common bureaucratic problem), the state can give you an advisory opinion to clear the way.

Incidentally, it& #39;s probably a smarter short-term move to pay for registration of re-enfranchised people in Miami-Dade or Palm Beach. The fine-clearance process takes too long.
There are hundreds of thousands of people who can vote *now*!

I welcome any suggestions for organizations that are registering re-enfranchised people in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, or Tampa counties between now and October 5th, through rocket-docket or other fine-forgiveness processes.
