The more I think about the seemingly innocuous term "mental health" the more I realize why I am uncomfortable with it.

It implies that Mind is an object that one possesses, and thus all the rest — i.e. 'the problem' being located in a de-contextualized person — follows that.
'Health' in this context is metaphorical. What we should actually be talking about and trying to term is the relationship between self, others and world.

It's much more about 'doing well' — as activity in the world, involving the world — rather than 'being well.'
The experiences in question are not states (of the body) that can be ill or healthy, but degrees of alignment or coherence between self, others and world.

This, for me, gets confused and occluded by the term 'mental health.'
