Someone rang the bell several times then knocked on the door violently. No, that& #39;s not the police, that& #39;s my regular courier.
As soon as I open the door he yells 順豐呀 then turns around, looking at the label. 哦~唔識讀。

Acourse not, Ah Fong, you don& #39;t know how to read a foreign name. You& #39;ve never spoken a word of English in your short life. You& #39;re a perfect example of the HK "education" system...
Anyway, my boss thought I needed more T-shirts, because summer and #wfh

Yes, I am now the proud owner of a RAK wowstick with all necessary bits.
There& #39;s a naughty joke hiding in there, AND I LIKE IT.

So tonight I hacked together demo code for the #RAK4631 that takes data from a bme680 sensor and uploads it to a dashboard via the ESP32 comms module. I& #39;ll let it run a few hours, see how it goes...
Oh hai peeps. While I was sleeping (only 4 hours!) my #RAK4631 has been busy uploading data. For now, as a test, it was only uploading the temperature datapoint to the dashboard. I am using VariPass ( https://varipass.org/ ),">https://varipass.org/">... which provides an easy-to-use API.
You just need a Key and a variable ID to make a GET request. I use VariPass with one of my RPi to produce a set of data streams that get displayed on my #Inkplate6. Neat. So I created a new variable, displayed below, and started coding...
The #RAK4631 uses an ESP32 as a comms board, with a customized AT firmware. So communicating via WiFi is possible, just a little clunkier than I& #39;d like. But Uncle & #39;Duino will manage...
I basically took 2 example sketches, plugged in some sensors and adapted the code from the example sketches to make one sketch. Add some AT firmware trickery, and voilà.
A bunch of data points are displayed in the monitor, and just about every minute the BME680& #39;s temperature is uploaded to VariPass. Adding more is just a question of adding variables, and doing more GET requests.
Once the RAK4631 is released in the wild, I& #39;ll upload the code.

There is one issue at the moment – the temp readings are quite high, as the sensors (I also have an SHTC3) are near the ESP32, which radiates heat. Room temperature is 3 to 4 degrees lower than what BME680 and SHTC3 say...
There you go, 3 variables tracked now. Let& #39;s run that for a few more hours...
Our product manager advised me that you can rotate the sensors 180° so that they jut out of the board, and are thus a little farther away. Trying this now to see if there& #39;s an effect.
Good to know that the connectors work both ways.
