5G isn't going to meaningfully change much in telecom.

There is no such thing as "5G ready" infra. Most telecos use standard MPLS network over standard single mode fiber. Only radios change, cost of which is negligible in comparison.
Instead of looking for mythical 5G, telecos should look to repurpose 3G spectrum for 4G, add radios that can do massive MIMO, move from 3 cell to 5 cell config; cost of all which is not huge. They are doing just that.
Capex for most telecos will fall this yr & most of it is for core/transport. Fiberisation/addition of more BTS sites is slowly happening over time. Cheap infra from bankrupt peers should help. Mmwave backhaul(5G feature) will help improve capacities at sites fed by wireless.
It is incorrect to say that just because of 5G, suddenly huge no. of BTS sites with fiber will spring up. It is more of an evolution thing, that is happening over time. Biggest driver will be improvement of ARPUs giving cash to telecos to invest, NOT 5G.
In this industry, there are lots of buzzwords like IoT, 5G ready, fiber for digital economy that are spewed by marketting people.

Telecom & allied industries like fiber, network are commodity/cyclical. Don't rush into anything without prior research & don't do story investing.
