Dear Neighbours,
We can hear you! Your snide remarks about the backyard garden I stopped caring for a few weeks ago and how when you saw my mother in-law cleaning the windows you said, “well at least someone is cleaning over there.” 1/

Yes there’s a lot of work around the house and yard that doesn’t get completed and our to-do list keeps growing but do you know why, dear nosy neighbours? 2/
You may have noticed a little girl about 4 years old playing in the backyard in her small plastic swimming pool and flapping her arms while making various vocal sounds. That’s our developmentally delayed nonverbal autistic daughter. 3/
She hasn’t been getting the therapy she needs & I haven’t been getting the respite I need. Since COVID started her behaviour has gotten more demanding and violent. Has I watch her struggle daily without the amazing therapists in her life helping her it rips my heart apart and 5/
my mental health is suffering. I’m hanging on by a thread over hear. Those police cars you saw outside my house last week we’re doing a welfare check on me to make sure I was alright & that I didn’t harm myself. I appreciate them so much for that, thank you GSP! @ChiefPaul_GSPS
You see I stopped taking care of the garden because I was in the hospital fighting for my life that I almost give up on because watching your child self harm themselves and others because she is so frustrated that she can not communicate her wants, needs and medical symptoms 7/
is the worst form of torture. Yes you may hear her screaming but what do you expect her do to? She can’t speak yet! Yes, you may hear me as well because I am human and I’m doing the best I can over here given the current situation we are facing 8/
and lack of support and services we would normally have for our daughter.
Instead of gossiping with your 50 year old friends in the driveway about us, calling by-law on us because my fiancé parks his work truck a little bit on our front lawn that we plan to extend our 9/

driveway to but haven’t had the time or money to get to it yet, and instead of judging us so harshly walk a mile in our shoes! Shame on you and your friends! Where is the empathy & compassion for a young couple trying to live their life and help their disabled daughter 10/
succeed, learn how to speak, how to toilet, how to eat with ustensiles, how to dress herself, how to brush her teeth, how to hold our hand and walk down the street? 11/
Those are the priorities we are working on over here and sometimes the house and yard work doesn’t get done. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, can you cut us some slack?
I thought we moved to a great inclusive community here in Capreol but I guess I was wrong. Thank you for making our lives financially and emotionally harder right now. 12/
That’s exactly what we don’t need. Please mind your own business and we will continue to mind ours.
Sincerely a special needs mom tired of the judgement @GreaterSudbury
