The expression “Put on your thinking cap,” has been around in one form or another all the way back since the 17th century.
Everyone's cap looks different...
But the expression indicates that it is time to think ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ hard to solve a particular problem...

Yellow Thinking Hat
Represents enthusiasm and optimism.
Brings positive energy and life to every idea.

The opposite of the yellow hat
It represents judgment.
