🎩A Thread🎩
The expression “Put on your thinking cap,” has been around in one form or another all the way back since the 17th century.

Everyone's cap looks different...

But the expression indicates that it is time to think ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ hard to solve a particular problem...
The creator is Edward de Bono, he also released ¨Six Thinking Hats¨ in 1985.

Created to:

In the Six Hats methodology, each hat is a different way of thinking.

Each one is represented by six coloured “hats.”

By wearing each hat, you learn how to think in different ways.

This will help brainstorm and approach problems from various angles.
The White Hat is The Detective

🔍Gathers, organizes, analyzes, and presents what information is available.
🔍They remain neutral and unbiased and avoid jumping to conclusions.

🎯 Mission: Weigh and analyze all clues, facts, and evidence and evaluate what is missing
Questions to ask:

❓What do we know about this problem?
❓What don’t we know?
❓What can we learn from this situation?
❓What information do we need to be able to solve this problem?
❓Are there any existing solutions that we can use to solve it?
Yellow Thinking Hat

🟡Represents enthusiasm and optimism.
🟡Brings positive energy and life to every idea.

🎯 Mission: Find the benefits and value of any ideas. There are no limitations or boundaries! If there’s a will, there’s a way!
Questions to ask:

❓What is the best approach to the problem?
❓How can we make this work?
❓What are the long-term benefits of solving this?
Black Thinking Hat

🎩The opposite of the yellow hat
🎩It represents judgment.
🎩How can things go wrong?

Essential! Used to expose flaws, weaknesses, and possible dangers of proposed ideas.

🎯 Mission: Keeps you from jumping headfirst into potentially disastrous solutions!
Questions to ask:

❓How will this idea fail?
❓Is there a fatal flaw?
❓Are there risks and consequences?
❓Do we have what is needed to make this work?
Red Thinking Hat

⭕️Primary goal is to suggest proposals and plans of action based on feelings and hunches.
⭕️Open-minded and non-judgmental.

🎯 Mission: Use your feelings, emotions and your intuition to find solutions!
Questions to ask:

❓What does our gut and intuition tell us?
❓What feelings, hunches and emotions does it trigger?
❓What are the hidden strengths?
❓And what could be potential weaknesses?
❓Are there internal conflicts?
❓How does being part of the solution make us feel?
Green Thinking Hat

💫Creative thinking!
💫Thinking outside the box!
💫Exploring more possibilities
💫Bending the rules of problem-solving.
💫Free from judgment and criticism.

🎯 Mission: No idea is too wild or crazy to be noted or immediately shot down.
Questions to ask:

❓What alternative possibilities exist?
❓Is it possible to do this another way?
❓What other perspectives can we look at?
❓How do we think outside the box?
❓Have I left my judgement out?
Blue Thinking Hat

🔷Helps analyze the situation
🔷Helps direct and focus your thinking.
🔷Maintains and manage agendas, rules, goals, and tasks.
🔷Organises ideas, proposals and plans

🎯 Mission: Manage the thinking of the other hats to ensure efficient work and focus
Questions to ask:

❓What is the problem?
❓How do we define it?
❓What does our goal and desired outcome look like?
❓What will be achieved by solving this problem?
❓What is the best way for going forward?
And that's that folks! 🥳
