Why are Breonna Taylor& #39;s killers walking free while David Dorn& #39;s killer was arrested and charged with murder, Jenna? https://twitter.com/JennaEllisEsq/status/1305985614882443265">https://twitter.com/JennaElli...
That& #39;s why people protest: because when a cop straight-up murders someone, the worst they usually have to face is *maybe* losing their job. They kill with impunity. It& #39;s sick. They should be held accountable for their actions. How is this not getting through to people like Jenna?
This is why the "oOoOoo why aren& #39;t people protesting *all* violence!" stuff that Republicans love to throw out there like some sort of gotcha is so bogus: first off, people do protest that; besides that, if those killers are found, they& #39;re arrested. Nothing to protest.
But when a cop kills someone, they walk free. That. Is. The. Problem. That is the core of that movement: calling for an end to cops facing zero accountability for their actions. It is simple.
If someone commits a crime, they& #39;re owed due process. When a cop murders someone they suspect of a crime (or even if they 100% know that person committed a crime), they& #39;re depriving them of due process. That is an unjust system.
If I can understand this, anyone can.
