Goddamn I'm looking at a thread of DOS game dev from people here and its making me want to get on the 486 and play DOS games.
My original 486 died but luckily I had the foresight to build this computer last year. Now this is the only working 486 I have.
Skyroads
Rise of the Triad
I can't begin to describe how nostalgic this image is to me. Not only the table preview but that warm color pallette and the dotted font.
Here is a sample of music from Android shareware from Epic Pinball back when my GUS was in this 486. It's so much louder and cleaner than the SB16. https://twitter.com/JikissGamer/status/1178150173496754176?s=20
Legend of Kyrandia.
Dangerous Dave by John Romero.
Wolfenstein 3D
Ultima 7
Supaplex has probably my favorite theme. It's all about computer circuitry. Look at all those PCBs and traces, and those capacitors and resistors and chips! And floppy disks.
I'm continuing this thread now because I passed out yesterday in the middle of it.
Ken's Labyrinth
I love the way the original Jazz Jackrabbit looks. The level with the diamonds makes me want candy. And I love the entire tileset of Tubelectric. And all the floppy disk and Gravis Gamepad collectibles in the game. It has such a DOS feel to it. With a touch of Amiga as well.
Duke Nukum
16-color EGA
Doom.
Red Baron.
How many of you can hear this image?
Sega Genesis Aladdin has a DOS port. It's got some nice sampled music but the quality is a bit crushed.
Tyrian.
Prince of Persia
Blackthorne.

I love those little cutscenes in the opening.
Apogee
Jill of the Jungle
Sim City
