Anyone at #nwas20, this is well worth your time. Found it very relatable. https://twitter.com/ounwcm/status/1305920720447381506
I've been partially open about this, more so with closer friends/colleagues than on a platform like this, but I struggle a lot with some of these things. Laura really hit me hard at times. Reactions that felt irrational, adding stress when it wasn't necessary, etc.
There are extenuating circumstances this year vs. a normal year (pandemic and gonna be a dad again next week, yay). Those compounded matters, but in reality, any time I see a realistic threat of some kind of major weather event nearby, it sometimes leads to excess stress/dread.
You learn how to try and manage, even though I freely admit I could do better. We also have developed a very good support network in this field thanks to people like @ounwcm and @wx_becks and many others. It helps a lot.
These aren't issues to ignore. Admitting that you struggle with this doesn't make you weak or soft. It makes you human. It's a busy world. Take some time to take care of yourselves too.
