Many caveats: If arts degrees are bad career prep, well, they’re not designed to be good career prep; various specific degrees have good career tracks; Bachelor’s as stepping stone to further education is still reasonable...
Anyway, I don’t have great advice beyond that. “Learn a trade” is probably overstated but still good. “Read a good book” is underrated for becoming a better person. There are networking and signaling elements to post-sec education that have real value...
I mean, I guess I could sum up this thread as “kids, don’t be like me,” and that’s pretty accurate, and yet I’m okay.
