Swim/Basketball/Cheer: Oct 19
B Soc/LAX: Nov 9
Football: Nov 30
Golf/B Ten/G Soc/Softball: Jan 4
Baseball/G Tennis/Track/Wrestling: Jan 20

Workouts would be limited to 2 per week initially, then increase to 5 per week. #HSOT

Question from board member Roxie Cash about WCPSS coaches stipends: AJ Muttillo with WCPSS HR says they will be releasing guidance about stipends this week, but that Wake County plans to pay their coaches for their seasons, even if they are abbreviated. #HSOT
School board member Jim Martin raising concerns over "should" vs. "shall" in guidelines re: an entire pod quarantining for 14 days if someone in a pod tests positive for COVID-19. Guidelines don't require that unless the pod is "exposed," which is a technical definition. #HSOT
Per WCPSS AD Deran Coe: "Exposure" would mean student-athletes in a pod are within 6 feet of each other for more than 15 minutes, Coe said if we're following all other guidelines, that should not happen. #HSOT
WCPSS announced in August that middle school athletics would be suspended until second semester, that is still the case. All athletic seasons will be played in the second semester for middle school sports in Wake County. #HSOT
Deran Coe said he's working with custodial services to get sanitation supplies for athletic facilities so those costs are not passed along to the individual athletic departments or booster clubs. #HSOT
WCPSS School Board Chair Keith Sutton says not all school booster clubs are equal and the cost of extra cleaning/sanitation should not be passed along to schools, should be covered by district.

Superintendent Cathy Moore says that's what the district will do.
