He can't just go to the nurse for a suppressant. His scent is too strong already. No, he needs /help/, someone to fetch the suppressant for him. And even though he's gotten better at asking and accepting help, there's only one person he'd willingly ask for help in this situation.

Bakugou needs to contact Kirishima but how?

(This is an interactive thread which means polls! But I also want to try an even more interactive approach - qrts! I'd like to have a mix of them but if it doesn't work, I'll stick to poll only. So, give suggestions maybe )

Before Bakugou can even decide on a way to contact Kirishima, a high pitched whine makes it past his lips and he clasps a hand over his mouth instantly. His inner omega is calling out to the alpha he thinks is his mate.

But Kirishima isn't his mate. It's just a dumb crush! An infatuation. It will pass soon...

Once he feels he has things under control again he reaches for his phone and rips it off the charger cable. He usually texts with Kirishima but the situation is urgent now.

So he dials instead. But Kirishima doesn't pick up. Bakugou can hear the ringing signal several times before he throws his phone on the bed in frustration. He balls his right hand into a fist and bangs on the wall he shares with Kirishima, yelling as well for good measure.

And... Kirishima doesn't answer. It's true that it's rarely him who initiates communication between him and Kirishima but it does happen occasionally. And he's never been ignored like this.

His inner omega doesn't take that well and cries at being disregarded by his mate.

/Not/ his mate, dammit!

Shit! His heat is getting closer. He'll have to check on Kirishima in person. He's just next door. Bakugou can get there quickly enough.

He opens his door just enough to stick his head out and check whether the corridor is empty. Once he's sure nobody is around to catch a whiff of his sweet pre-heat scent, he dashes to Kirishima's door.

He doesn't bother knocking. If Kirishima didn't hear him banging on the wall, he won't hear the knock either. His hand grabs the handle and pushes it down.

The poor omega's desperate to reach Kirishima! But is the door even unlocked?

The door's unlocked, thankfully. Bakugou's relieved that Kirishima has never gotten into the habit of locking his door despite Bakugou telling him to do that at least a hundred times.

The moment Bakugou sets foot into the room and shuts the door behind himself, he feels safe. Sure he felt uneasy in the corridor but that was because he didn't want to meet anyone else in his condition. It wasn't because he felt unsafe or threatened... Except it was.

But in Kirishima's room he feels safe and relaxed. He feels like he is in the right place. His inner omega purrs, the betraying bastard!

Shaking his head, Bakugou immediately searches for Kirishima. He finds him lying in bed, headphones on and connected to his opened laptop.

Kirishima didn't hear Bakugou because of his headphones! But what has him so busy on a Sunday morning?

It's obvious that Kirishima's listening to something rather than watching. His eyes are closed and the laptop is on the nightstand.

Bakugou can't see what is being played but whatever it is it seems to be having a rather relaxing effect on the alpha who has his eyes closed, a small content smile adorning his lips.

His right hand rests on his stomach and shifts lower just enough for the tip of the middle finger to brush the bulge in his pants. Bakugou decides to make his presence known before the hand slides even lower.

And he's stubbornly ignoring his inner omega who whines that their alpha shouldn't have to resort to his hand when they can help him instead! And help themselves as well.

Bakugou's ready to make his presence known but maybe that won't be necessary. His scent is rather strong after all.

But before he could even take a step further into the room, Kirishima's eyes open wide and he sits up in the bed, looking alarmed. He takes a whiff, nostrils widening a fraction. And then he turns sharply towards Bakugou, pupils blown so much the red is almost not visible.

Bakugou's inner omega enjoys the attention. The rational part of Bakugou, however, does not. Kirishima's reaction is that of an alpha to an omega in pre-heat. It's not a reaction to him specifically. He has to remind himself that.

He takes a step forward and the movement breaks through Kirishima's trance. The alpha's eyes clear and widen in shock and he almost falls from the bed, ripping the headphones off in the process.

"Ba-Bakugou?!?"

Bakugou likes the blush that appears on Kirishima's cheeks. But he needs to focus dammit! The suppressant pill! The whole reason he is here!

"Listen here, Kirishi-"

"What's with the scent?" Kirishima interrupts. "Are you..."

"An omega?" Bakugou manages between clenched teeth. "What if I am, hah?!"

Kirishima puts his hands in front of his chest, palms towards Bakugou.

"I was just asking!"

Maybe Bakugou presenting as an omega is not such a shock to Kirishima after all?

And then Kirishima smiles like a fool and confuses the hell out of Bakugou.

"I'm kinda proud that I was right." It almost sounds like Kirishima is talking to himself, especially since he’s looking at the floor. But Bakugou doesn't like being in the dark about stuff.

"Right about what?"

Kirishima blushes even more. He rubs the back of his neck but meets Bakugou's eyes this time.

“About your dynamic. Everyone was so sure you’d be an alpha but I’ve always thought an omega would fit you better.”

/Alpha likes that we’re omega!/ Bakugou's inner omega is ecstatic for some reason. But Bakugou himself is surprised. If it has been anyone else telling him that, he would’ve taken it as an insult. A lot of people look down on omegas. But Kirishima has never done that.

He respects omegas and treats them as equals. And it's obvious his opinion of Bakugou won't change. Bakugou feels warmth bloom in his chest.

"Bakugou, you just presented and your scent is getting heavier quickly. You... didn’t take a suppressant pill?" Kirishima sounds weird and is looking at Bakugou with intensity. Bakugou doesn’t understand why so he ignores it.

"I don’t fucking have one. I thought I wouldn’t need it so I never took it. You have to go take one for me. I can’t walk around smelling like this!"

"Oh." Kirishima’s face falls and Bakugou's even more confused now. But before he can ask about it, Kirishima stands up abruptly and bangs his fists together. His smile looks fake. "Alright, you can count on me!"

Bakugou's inner omega is conflicted. /Alpha is dependable! Alpha wants to help us! Alpha doesn’t want to spend our heat with us? Alpha doesn’t want us? / It's giving Bakugou a headache. And Kirishima's scent and proximity are affecting him already. His knees feel weak.

He hopes Kirishima leaves before they give out. He doesn’t want Kirishima to see him weak and pathetic like that!

The omega's knees are weak, the poor thing! Will he be strong enough to keep standing up? Or will his legs give out. And if they do, will he fall to his knees or will his alpha catch him maybe? So many possibilities! Share your suggestions!~

But of course that's not what happens. All that training he went through and his traitorous legs still betray him. He sways and the floor is getting close at alarming speed. He can't believe that he's falling over like a sack of potatoes.

His reflexes are usually incredibly fast but now his body feels heavy and his mind laggy. He braces for the impact but it never comes. Instead, two strong arms catch and straighten him up as best as possible.

But Bakugou's legs are still like jelly and he sways again, face ending up in the crook of Kirishima's neck, nose pressing against the alpha's scent gland. The scent is incredible! So much more potent when it's coming out straight from the source.

It's intoxicating and Bakugou can't help rubbing his face against the gland in an uncoordinated manner before licking it sloppily. He doesn't even register what he's doing until Kirishima tightens his hands around his waist and lets out a raspy curse.

The alpha scent gets heavier and Bakugou can feel his throat starting to vibrate on its own.

And merely a second later his vision blurs from the motion of being manhandled all the way to the bed where he's left in a sitting position, back propped on the pillow against the wall.

But instead of climbing into the bed as well, Kirishima straightens up and steps back. His cheeks are even redder than before, pupils blown. There's an unmistakable bulge in his pants and his throat bobs as he swallows. He looks on edge and Bakugou frowns at that.

Kirishima is about to bolt! He has a mission to complete after all! But does he say anything before leaving or is he too panicked for that? And if he does say something, what do you think it would be?

/Not bro! Mate!/ Bakugou's inner omega protests vehemently.

Bakugou instinctively moves towards Kirishima and the young alpha’s eyes widen a fraction in panic.

“STAY!” it’s an alpha command and it hits Bakugou like a brick. He’s never felt such an overwhelming need to obey and it leaves him breathless.

"Shit shit shit! Sorry! I’m sorry, Bakugou! I didn’t mean to- I’ll leave now!" And with that Kirishima runs out of the room before Bakugou can blink twice.

Bakugou gets his breathing under control fairly soon after that but his inner omega is so upset and he can barely think with all the bemoaning hapening in his head.

/Alpha abandoned us! Alpha doesn’t want us! Alpha wants to give us pill instead of mating!/

It takes him a couple of minutes to calm himself down, assuring himself that Kirishima is just doing what he was told. That he didn't abandon him on purpose. And that Kirishima leaving couldn't be taken as a proof that he doesn't want Bakugou.

Bakugou still doesn't know whether the alpha wants him or whether his attraction is only to his omegan pre-heat scent. But thinking too much about it upsets his inner omega so he tries not to.

Now that his alpha... that Kirishima is out of the room, his fresh scent dissipates and Bakugou can move and think more clearly. But at the same time he misses it terribly. He feels restless now, unsafe. He wants to be surrounded by it again. He has an itch...

He wants to... /needs/ to build a nest. A soft nest in which he'll feel comfy and safe being surrounded by his alpha's scent. The itch intensifies and Bakugou shoots up from the bed, sniffing around the room.

The bed itself smells nice enough and is soft by itself so he'll use it as a base. The actual nest will be made from Kirishima's clothes.

He finds the laundry basket quickly and takes the lid off. It's good that Kirishima never did learn to do his laundry on time so the basket is almost full. And on top of the mountain of clothes are Kirishima's gym clothes from yesterday, still potent with his scent.

Bakugou makes a face at them. He wants to be repulsed by the smelly sweaty garments but his inner omega wants them the most, wants to shove his face into them and breathe in the scent until he's high on it. With a sigh Bakugou accepts his fate and empties the basket onto the bed.

Everything lands in a disorganized and sorry heap and he just stares at it. He's never learned how to make a nest. It should come naturally but there are tons of tutorials online for a reason. He's never watched any of them though. And now he feels ill-prepared.

Bakugou doesn't know how to build a nest! He's good at a lot of things but will he be good at nest building as well, having no experience or guidelines whatsoever?

He's used to being good at things. He naturally excels. And even when he doesn't, he practices until he does, usually way faster than most people.

But he doesn't have time to practice now in case he's not got at it. And he's not sure he'd emotionally survive a failed nest. Not with his inner omega barely keeping it together as it is.

He mainly wants to nest because his alpha's not with him. The nest is supposed to make Kirishima's absence bearable. And if Bakugou fails at building a good nest he wouldn't have anything to comfort him. He can't chance that!

He needs to do it decently from the first try. And he may have forgotten his phone in his room, but Kirishima's laptop is very much near him and connected to the Wi-Fi. And Bakugou knows the password. He'll watch a quick tutorial about nest-building. How difficult could it be?

Bakugou knows the laptop's password already but none of us do! Care to take a guess?

Bakugou wakes the laptop up and the password screen pops up. He inputs 'manlypassword' with only the smallest of eye rolls. Still, it's better than 'password' or '12345'...

A y*utube video welcomes him and he can't help his curiosity. It's all black so he looks at the title for clues.

And Bakugou really shouldn't be surprised that Kirishima listens to that sort of thing. Alphas love hearing an omega purring. They find it relaxing and sometimes arousing. And it's not like Bakugou himself hasn't listened to one of those ASMR videos before, out of curiosity.

He thought it didn't do anything for him because he hasn't presented yet but maybe it has been a sign.

This video though... it does something to him alright. It makes his chest and throat hurt, and his jaw clench. Kirishima shouldn't be listening to other omegas! He should only enjoy Bakugou's purring!

Except he didn't enjoy it at all earlier... he recoiled when Bakugou started to purr...

Tears well up in his eyes a moment later. Fuck! What the hell?!

He opens a new tab so he wouldn't see the title of the video anymore. If he has already built his nest, he would've calmed down more easily. The nest would've been a comfort to him.

But he hasn't built it so he has to resort to picking the shirt with the strongest and freshest scent and shoving his face in it, taking deep breaths. But his heart is stil hammering and hands still shaking. He isn't used to panicking so much, especially without a solid reason.

He tries to think rationally again. Kirishima doesn't have a recording of him purring. Bakugou wasn't even able to do that until this morning. So it's absurd to be angry at the alpha for listening to other omegas purrs instead.

If Kirishima did have a recording of him purring, he would've listened to that instead. Probably. Maybe. Bakugou can't be sure but he'll pretends it's true for now.

Kirishima's scent and thinking rationally are helping Bakugou calm down. But are they enough to fully soothe him?

If yes - he'll watch a nest building tutorial. If not - he'll need something else to help him fully calm down. Maybe he'll follow Kirishima's example and listen to an ASMR recording of alphas chuffing. Or maybe he'll do something else? He'll need suggestions for sure!
