The way some feminists talk about "THE PATRIARCHY" has me chuckling. The things that get blamed on this Mysterious Patriarchy (many that are actually explained by biology) are....... genuinely funny.
Honestly, when I look around general Western culture, I don't see enough "patriarchy" to have the kind of power that is attributed to it.

Sure, patriarchy exists in certain pockets and sub-cultures, like in religious communities... but in GENERAL? 🤨
There is definitely still sexism, yes, and it does have serious affects on girls and women. But... patriarchy??? Seriously? Where is Patriarchy? Who is Patriarchy? WHAT is Patriarchy?
I guess in short, I feel that calling the issues facing girls and women in the West "patriarchy" seems largely like an exaggeration and a misuse of the term. Patriarchy is a very real phenomenon, but people, this ain't it.
