LRT makes me think about my parents gen complaining about how ppl are loosing their freedom of speech. And it’s like, no bro. In America you can absolutely say “I hate the gov and president; they’re a piece of shit” and not go to jail.
Freedom of speech is still intact
Freedom of speech is still intact
What’s not intact is the amount of ppl willing to listen to bullshit.
Actions have consequences. If you say something offensive and ppl get offended, how can you be so surprised

Continuing into another thought, I do think cancel culture is becoming a bit of a problem. I think the original idea of calling out trouble is still really solid. But unfortunately we’ve seen that is doesn’t actually effect big names but it really effects small artists
And I’m not trying to defend everyone that’s been attacked cause I know there’s a lot of genuinely shitty ppl. But I’ve also seen little artists go underground or get personal info exposed for things that shouldn’t be as big of a problem
I also feel like we can start seeing a trend where ppl who aren’t so bad leave and don’t return, but the shittiest stay and yell and assume they’re right because they got backlash to fuel their self righteous blaze of hate.
There actually isn’t too much of a point to this thread. It’s just something I’ve been thinking about recently
