5 Tips to fit fitness into your life (thread)

1. Combine walking with other enjoyable or useful activities such as talking with a supportive friend or taking the stairs instead of the elevator
2. Remember how to fit a bunch of rocks into a jar. Put the big ones in first. Your workouts are the big rocks. Make them a priority above other activities. Schedule your workouts and keep these appointments with yourself.
3. Commit to something reasonable for your lifestyle. I got great results with only 3 full body resistance training workouts per week. Each workout was about an hour and I did 20 minutes of cardio or walking a few times a week in addition to that. Resistance training > cardio
4. Before you start a new way of eating, track your calories and macros for at least a few days to get a baseline of what you are doing now. This will help you determine what next steps to take. @MyFitnessPal is a free easy to use app.
5. Hire a coach and do what your coach tells you to do. Pick someone who you enjoy spending time with and says things that mostly resonate and make sense.
