Yes, Haitians are the largest Black immigrant group in Miami-Dade — & the city was literally built by Black immigrants from the Bahamas. And in modern times, we can go down the list of Jamaicans, Trinis, Nigerians and Black Latinos who make up the Black immigrant diaspora here
BLM and immigrant rights—of course they intersect. See the case of a Haitian man framed by Biscayne Park pd who was deported to Haiti. Even though the convictions were thrown out, he cannot return. When the City of North Miami Beach PD was using real mugshots of Black men they'd arrested for target practice, many had Haitian surnames.
