Indigenous people and lands shouldn’t have to carry the weight of “solving climate change”. I get the intentions of giving us our lands back so we can steward over them-and head our own solution base to climate issue.

But also indigenous people didn’t create this issue. So?
That’s a lot of not taking accountability as settlers, descendants of settlers. And it also negates the fact that the globalized centralized powers are still the biggest perpetrators of climate change-dismantling of this is crucial. It’s not as simple as championing indigenous.
I know there’s a headass somewhere saying “well indigenous were killing off mammoths before we got here”, but negating the fact that-indigenous people didn’t catalyst climate change through imperialism, colonialism, industrialization and capitalism in the past hundreds of years.
