✨ Ways I'm unqualified for my job ✨

Here's a list of things I think(?) I'm not very good at as a community dev, that I probably should be.

A bit of realism and honesty when it comes to abilities!

Thread 👇
1. I'm shy AND introverted 🙈

In a job where you need to get to know people, I'm.. quite shy. Like, really shy.

I get queasy introducing myself to new people, the larger a group gets the more quiet I get, I actively try to skip out on as many parties as I can, etc.
2. Photoshop/Premiere 🖌️

I'm self taught, so a lot of my content is haphazardly slapped on. Why does my content not look as clean as other studios sometimes? Because I might've literally just Googled how to do it hours before 😂
3. Analytics 📈

I'm not sure HOW in depth some studios want their analytics, but I can't genuinely say I'm the BEST at them? (E.g. my knowledge of Google Analytics is pretty basic.)

I can do reports, but sometimes it feels like I should... Do more...? Should I?? Hmmm????
4. Influencer strategy 🎥

I've never had enough time to really work out a heavy duty influencer plan! So I'd say my tracking and work around it is not as in depth as I'd like.
5. Budgets 💰

My work is primarily in the poor indie space, which means... If I'm given a budget, I'm actually quite lost on where to allocate it (other than say, doing paid ads.)
.. And more, prob!

I think it's valuable to know your weaknesses (without shame) because... Well, how else will you improve? 🤷‍♀️

Partially wrote this 'cause I'm doing a talk on "Failure Marketing" for the lovely @GDoCExpo btw! :) ❤️
