My 6 month old & I developed cold symptoms on Friday. I took my 2.5 year old in the car & went to a drive thru testing centre on Saturday. Wait = 2.5 hours. We left after 1.5 hours bc they redirected cars & we lost our spot.

Lesson = don’t bring the kids.

My husband developed symptoms Sunday. Monday I went to another walk-in testing centre 1.5 hours before it was scheduled to close. I was turned away because the line was already at capacity. I estimate 100+ people were turned away that evening.

I went back to the same testing centre this morning. The line was completely wrapped around the hospital building. It would have easily been a 5+ hour wait.

So I downloaded the @maple app to get screened for a scheduled appointment at @THP_hospital.

It’s worth noting here that I only knew about this option because I work in healthcare & I’m active on Twitter. I am NOT representative of the general public here.

The @maple wait time said 20 minutes. Awesome! In reality, I waited 50 minutes before receiving this message:

Alas, I have been turned away once again. I have spent over 6 hours trying to get tested, and at this point I will continue to self-isolate as I’m already symptom free.
