2. First, Mississauga city council is one of the most disproportionately white councils in Ontario!! 3. First-past-the-post elections tend to deliver binary races, with only two front-runners. Look at these charts to see what happened in London Ontario, when they switched to ranked ballots!
4. Despite all the fear mongering about costs, London& #39;s experience shows us that ranked ballots only cost about $2 per voter for the first year of implementation, and roughly TEN CENTS per voter for future elections. That& #39;s small change, for big change!
5. Ranked ballots are already used all across Canada, by every political party, to elect their own leaders. It& #39;s also the fastest spreading reform in North America, with recent adoption by New York City and the entire state of Maine! Here& #39;s the ranked ballot used by @CPC_HQ:
