The title of the article reveals the real reason they want to drop “Southern” from SBC. We’ve always had SBC churches all over the world. It’s not about geographical confusion, but RACE. They obviously believe the word “Southern” denotes white racism.

If @jdgreear & other leaders are truly serious, stop the incremental steps & do the following:
1) Let JD Greear announce today that he will propose at the 2021 convention to spend whatever money necessary to legally change the name of the SBC to “Great Commission Baptists.”

2) As a sign of real substantial change, let JD Greear step down as President and allow Marshal Ausberry, the 1st VP, to immediately assume that role.
