1. Yes, my racial reconciliation work alongside my work in advocating for biblical justice in the social realm was costly, it cost me long term friendships & our church.

With that said, it wasn’t nearly as costly, ministry wise, as when I took my spiritual abuse work public.
2. When my work was primarily racial trauma care, My call history looked like a conference line up. In these times where everyone wants to appear to care, a black racial trauma counselor is gold.

When I began speaking abt spiritual abuse correlation & spiritual abuse in general.
3. “Racial reconciliation” within certain groups is a fad. All the big churches wanna appear to be on the cutting edge, “racial trauma” in soul care is a field I’ve largely been a pioneer in & is the “new thing”.

Nothing shuts down quicker than the words “spiritual abuse” tho.
4. So, talking abt how black & brown people are racially traumatized is okay, but talking about HOW white Christians abuse & traumatize them is off limits. So many stories.

Don’t get me started on how quick folks ghosted after I co-signed @R_Denhollander’s rebukes of Mahaney.😅
5. Anyways, to make a long story short, I actually don’t believe the biggest issue in white evangelicalism is “racism”. Oh it’s up there, but there is a whole faction of white evangelicalism that “supports” diversity. Biggest issue is *Abuse*, it’s racism problem ties into that.
6. Racism & White Supremacy are both about power. This is why the same denomination (SBC) has a track record in slavery, Jim Crow, AND coverups regarding the abuse of women & children in recent times. There’s power in superfically “supporting” diversity, none in owning abuse.
