Defunding police as a pathway to abolition also means reinvesting the hundreds of millions of tax dollars that go toward misconduct settlements.

IF police are going to exist, some suggest they carry liability insurance at *minimum,* so the cost of their misconduct is not passed right back to the communities they abuse.
I think we must do much more, but families who deserve to sue should @ least be paid out by cops.

(Speaking of, I think part of why Trump wants to “win” again is he doesn’t want massive suits for his negligence over COVID, but that’s another story for another day...)
Anyway, I don’t have a pretty bow to this and neither does Breonna’s family. They deserve everything they’ll get-and I also know every family would just rather have their loved one back.
