Here's a THREAD for you who have a need to talk shit about women's soccer. Hope it leads you to think, for once.

Professors at the Department of Neuromedicine and Movement Science at NTNU in Trondheim have looked at what it would look like if male football players were to play under the same conditions as women.

The football field would be 132 meters long and 85 meters wide, and they would play with a ball very similar in size and weight to a basketball.

If male goalkeepers were to stand in a goal that based on physical conditions corresponded to what the women stand in. Then their goal would have been 61 cm wider (7.93m) and 20 cm (2.64m) higher.

If the game duration for men was extended so it would be equally as challenging as the women’s game duration is today, it would be 113 min. And a similarly “unfair” extra time for men would be 37 min (2 × 19 min).

"Enjoy the game as it is today, with its small differences between the sexes, and perhaps work to increase the competence level of the spectators."
