I'd like to add a little meat to the tweet I did below, regarding the Founding Father's sacrifice of lives and fortunes to create our Republic. Sacrifices that we are all facing decisions on today, in order to keep our lives and country alive. https://twitter.com/roadrunnered/status/1305667621623341056
Of those 56 who signed the Declaration of Independence, nine died of wounds or hardships during the war. Five were captured and imprisoned, in each case with brutal treatment. Several lost wives, sons or entire families.
One lost his 13 children. Two wives were brutally beaten.
All were at one time or another the victims of manhunts and driven from their homes. Twelve signers had their homes completely burned. Seventeen lost everything they owned.
Yet not one defected or went back on his pledge,
Their honor, and the nation they sacrificed so much to create is still intact.
"And for the support of this Declaration with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."
And so my fellow Patriots, the time is coming, indeed it may be upon us now, when we all will have to make the decision that all we cherish, as the 1776 Patriots did, is worth fighting for.
I quoted from an article that Rush Limbaugh wrote in 2000.
